The 13th International Indian Film Academy IIFA Awards kicked off among a lot of star power in Singapore recently was hosted by unusual pair of Farhan Akhtar, Shahid Kapur and their wit and humour kept audience in splits. The show saw star-studded performances by Sonakshi Sinha, Bipasha Basu, Prabhu Deva, Priyanka Chopra, Shahid, Rishi and Ranbir Kapoor. 

Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar triumphed at the IIFA awards with each winning four trophies. Ranbir Kapoor won the Best Actor Rockstar, Best music direction and best music for A.R. Rahman, best lyrics was won by Irshad Kamil for the song Nadaan Parindey and best playback singer male for Mohit Chauhan for Rockstar as expected. Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri were awarded as the Bollywood hottest pair.
 
The Best movie and director too have been predictable this year, as Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, which swept has won in both categories. the Best Story and Best Supporting Actor was won by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Katgi and Farhan Akhtar respectively for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
Vidya Balan won Best Actress Award for her best performances for the movie The Dirty Picture.
 
The award for best playback singer female went to Shreya Ghoshal for her song Teri Meri from the film Bodyguard. While Actor Vidyut Jamwal walked away with an award for best debut male for his performance in Force and  Parineeti Chopra won two awards for best debut female and best actress in a supporting role female for Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl. 
 
Filmmaker Ramesh Sippy was honoured at the gala for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema, while veteran actress Zohra Segal received a special award for her contribution to 100 years of Indian cinema, though she couldn't make it to the event. 
 
Yesteryear's actress Rekha was honoured for her outstanding achievement in Indian cinema, while Norwegian actress Liv Ullmann was given an award for her contribution to international cinema. 
 
This year we have also included cinema from the South, the biggest representative of which is Mr Kamal Hassan who is present hereand Kamal's new film Viswaroop was showcased at IIFA as IIFA is Celebration of all of Indian cinema and not just Bollywood. It will also emphasis that the Bollywood extravaganza is widening its horizon to provide a global platform to regional cinema as well.
 
Famous Norwegian actress and director Liv Ullmann is at the IIFA this year to show her film on her relationship with Swedish filmmaker Ingmar Bergman.
 
Though this year's IIFA awards had its own appeal, the actors who were missed the mega event  included Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, John Abraham, Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, and Sonam Kapoor.
 
Rishi and Ranbir Kapoor closed the award ceremony with a medley of their numbers (Paisa Yeh Paisa, Sadda Haq, Bachna Ae Haseeno and many more). Together they set the stage on fire and left the audience enthralled.
